Standalone Sunday 08/12/2017 All the Truth that’s in Me by Julie Berry A tale of courage!

I’ve read All the Truth that’s in me by Julie Berry 3 years ago now. When I was barely beginning to write reviews. It was recommended by my favorite author and she was right! It’s a beautiful tale of courage and selflessness.

Standalone Sunday is a feature created by Megan@bookslayereads where each Sunday a standalone book (not part of a series) that I loved or would recommend will be featured!

I love that meme as it takes little time to do (I’m always running like the real busy bee I am) AND I get to promote a book I really loved. This is the perfect idea for me!

If you want to play, feel free but don’t forget to tag Megan’s blog.

This sunday I chose to feature a book that will lift your spirit and nurture your soul.

It’s been a weird week on facebook with the bashing of some author and I wanted to present you with a beautiful book. This is the kind of story that is not a show off but leaves you with contentment as you’ve read something pure and beautiful.

All the Truth that’s in Me by Julie Berry.

What Goodreads says about the book:

Four years ago, Judith and her best friend disappeared from their small town of Roswell Station. Two years ago, only Judith returned, permanently mutilated, reviled and ignored by those who were once her friends and family.

Unable to speak, Judith lives like a ghost in her own home, silently pouring out her thoughts to the boy who’s owned her heart as long as she can remember—even if he doesn’t know it—her childhood friend, Lucas.

But when Roswell Station is attacked, long-buried secrets come to light, and Judith is forced to choose: continue to live in silence, or recover her voice, even if it means changing her world, and the lives around her, forever.

This startlingly original novel will shock and disturb you; it will fi

ll you with Judith’s passion and longing; and its mysteries will keep you feverishly turning the pages until the very last.

What I said 3 years ago when I was a baby reviewer 😀

Beautifully written. I read it in one sitting till past midnight.

It depicts the life in some small community, the village gossips, the peers judgement, the power of men above women. How improper behaviours, especially female, are frown upon.

Judith is one of the most selfless character I know, she is a noble one. Even shunned by the villagers and ignored by her love, she is ready to sacrifice herelf to save them all and ensure her love lives, even in the arms of another.

She is so courageous, so noble and forgiving. Even without words, she doesn’t miss a thing.

This is a truly beautiful tale of courage and selflessness. Definitely on my best shelf.

Happy Sunday!
