#BookBoyfriendChallenge Day 12 Forbidden

Day 12 of the Book Boyfriend Challenge and I get to share with you one of the most fantastic books I’ve read so far and one of the most touching and shattering book boyfriend that I’ve encountered.

Today was a no brainer. Not a second did I hesitate about my choice.

If you have never read this book, never cried for this magnificent hero then by all means you should.

Today my forbidden book boyfriend is seventeen year old Lochan in Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma.

This story still compels me years after I’ve read it. Lochan stole my heart. Pouf! Gone with him. I had not one tissue left. I had the biggest bookhangover in my whole life. I reinvented this ending countless times. I raged, I despaired and I was in awe.

Forbidden is the most appropriate title you could find for this book.

Lochan is tragic, gorgeous, desperate, lost, passionate. I’ll never forget him.

Synopsis:

She is pretty and talented – sweet sixteen and never been kissed. He is seventeen; gorgeous and on the brink of a bright future. And now they have fallen in love. But… they are brother and sister.

Seventeen-year-old Lochan and sixteen-year-old Maya have always felt more like friends than siblings. Together they have stepped in for their alcoholic, wayward mother to take care of their three younger siblings. As defacto parents to the little ones, Lochan and Maya have had to grow up fast. And the stress of their lives—and the way they understand each other so completely—has also brought them closer than two siblings would ordinarily be. So close, in fact, that they have fallen in love. Their clandestine romance quickly blooms into deep, desperate love. They know their relationship is wrong and cannot possibly continue. And yet, they cannot stop what feels so incredibly right. As the novel careens toward an explosive and shocking finale, only one thing is certain: a love this devastating has no happy ending.

Favorite quotes:

“I can’t tell you. I can’t tell you of all people. Throughout my life you were the one person I could turn to. The one person I could always count on to understand. And now that I’ve lost you, I’ve lost everything.”
Tabitha Suzuma, Forbidden

“You can close your eyes to the things you do not want to see, but you cannot close your heart to the things you do not want to feel.”
Tabitha Suzuma, Forbidden

“At the end of the day it’s about how much you can bear, how much you can endure. Being together, we harm nobody; being apart, we extinguish ourselves.”
Tabitha Suzuma, Forbidden
