About MORE THAN A FEELING:
From the award-winning author of TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT comes the final story in her red-hot Rock Star Romance series, about a loner rocker finding his perfect duet.
When Cooper Hood left Snowberry, Montana ten years ago, he swore he’d never go back to the town that painted him with the same brush as his addict mother. But right in the middle of his band’s national tour he gets a call to come home: his mom’s got a whopper of a secret to reveal.
Daisy Charbonneau’s in trouble. The talent she hired for her resort’s annual Huckleberry Festival just bailed on her, and she’s desperate to find a replacement act. Luck turns her way when she discovers her high school crush is back in town—and he happens to be a rock star.
As they work together, a crush deepens into so much more, but who falls in love in two weeks?
Especially when Cooper’s never coming back to town, and Daisy’s never going to leave it.

Closing her eyes, Daisy bit into the crunchy drizzle, her teeth sinking through the buttery rich goodness of the bread. Oh, dear God. Her mom made the world’s best cinnamon rolls. With a sigh, she looked up to find someone heading toward her on the path.
Of course her childhood crush would show up the moment she’d stuffed her mouth full of pastry. Leaning against the hood of her car, Daisy chewed quickly—which sucked because, basically, time should stand still while savoring her mom’s desserts.
But Cooper wasn’t looking at her. Scowling at his phone, he stopped on the path, fingers furiously typing. Was he dealing with his mom?
Or maybe a girlfriend. Instantly her skin tightened, and her heart thudded. If Cooper had a girlfriend…God. Last night she’d gone on and on about how much he’d meant to her.
She looked away, mortification crashing through her system.
First, she’d bumped into him wearing waders and a fishing hat, and then she’d forced him to go out with her. Awesome.
He couldn’t have been clearer that he didn’t want to spend the day with her, but she’d gone and made an offer she knew he couldn’t turn down. Not if he wanted to get his mom’s house built and get himself back on tour.
Feeling a little sick to her stomach, she licked the sticky drizzle off her fingers and shoved the treat back into the bag.
As he paused on the path, thumbs working over the phone’s keypad, she took in his powerful physique. A white T-shirt strained across broad shoulders, hugging his thickly rounded biceps, and worn blue jeans cupped his hard, muscular thighs.
The colorful ink covering his body made him look like a total badass. She’d noticed a strange symbol on his inner wrist and a cartoon image on his forearm of a pin-up girl holding a barbell, a sexy slash of red for her lips.
The man he’d grown into made her soul wake up, and God, she couldn’t even remember the last time she’d felt this kind of fluttery attraction for a guy.
As if he felt someone watching him, he looked up sharply and found her. The worry lines eased. But he didn’t smile. “Hey.”
She pushed off her car. “You ready?” Forced or not, her plan was good for both of them. She was sticking to it.

4 solid stars
Sometimes I just need a “feel good” book. You know a not too complicated story with a sunny female character, a tight knit and supportive community and the lost child coming back wearing the skin of a rock star.
You’ll have some drama with a villain trying to undermine our hero’s work but not too much angst, happy moments aplenty and will just want to kick the MC’s butt once or twice as he is missing on a huge opportunity. And by the end of the story you’ll have a big smile and a fond heart. Well “More Than a Feeling” fits the role perfectly.
I had never read anything written by Erika Kelly but I just needed some second chance romance featuring a rock star so on a whim I decided to read this one.
I can now say I loved it enormously. I did not want to stop reading as I was either biking, walking or horse riding in Montana (a State I fell in love with while on holiday two years ago) right alongside big hunk of men. Cooper, our hero was not the only hottie in the book. Ethan, Nash and co. looked yummy too. It must be all that fresh air and outdoor activities but I was singing “It’s Raining Men” all along.
Now back to the story: Cooper is the lead guitarist of the famous rock band Blue Fire. He’s back for two days in his hometown as his mom promised “The Big Reveal” about his real father. Cooper had a very hard childhood being the town junkie kid. He often had to sleep in the woods as a kid and went hungry for days. No one helped him aside the music teacher who opened Cooper to another world and a more promising future. To say he does not want to come back is the understatement of the year.
But there is a bright light in this gloomy journey: Daisy. She was Cooper teenage crush.
I loved Daisy. She is one of these sunny people you can’t help but like. Always enthusiast, working her @ss off to save the town’s economy and give her community a bright future while helping to develop a resort she truly was a good person. Don’t worry, she’s feisty as well and you won’t have a goody two shoes with no personality. That girl can stand her ground and I loved when she battled with the Mayor Stuart!
When she meets Cooper again, all her old feelings rush to the surface. Cooper was also the guy she dreamt of kissing and more. She knew his difficult upbringing and wanted to help and protect him all along. She was the only person he let in when he was young.
As happy as they are to meet again, what’s the point to begin something as he is only staying two days in town right? Only there is a twist to the story and soon enough Cooper’s stay will be extended and they’ll work together to organize some event.
I really dig this story as it had many ingredients I’m looking for in romance:
-great characters. I’ve already gushed on Daisy but I would also have had a crush on Cooper in real life. He may be a hot rocker now I loved seeing his insecurities, his flaws but also his dedication to build a future. He is a good guy to the core and was very considerate with Daisy.
-beautiful backgrounds. I love Montana and the small town nestled into its mountain really did add to my reading pleasure. The town community is filled with great side characters all adding something to the story and creating the warm feeling I got from the book. Reading about people helping each other to save a community and work together always create warm and fuzzy feelings for me;
-interesting plot with the right amount of angst and twists but not too much either;
-second chance romance and friends to lovers story. I love it when they realize they both have feelings for each other even if it takes some persuasion to convince Cooper (but where would be the fun otherwise, right?);
–hot guys rocking the scene (a girl needs some eye candy in her life).
So would I recommend this story? Absolutely!
