My name is Sadie Allen and I published my first book, Maybe Never, this past February. Maybe Never is a YA contemporary romance about overcoming adversity and finding yourself along the way.
I was nervous about publishing this book because it deals with so many hot button issues- bullying, race/class conflict, domestic violence, addiction, gender identity, and death. I started writing it when our country was going through this social upheaval. So, I was very much influenced by that. I guess I created my own imaginary world to cope with what was going on. A world where there were young people going through these issues but were given the opportunity to rise above it and move on. Love can get us through almost anything if we reach out and accept it. That’s what I wanted to convey with Maybe Never.
One of the main characters, Judd, is a former golden boy. He is the poster child for high school overachiever perfection: good looks, great family, lots of friends, hot girlfriend, cool car, and a football scholarship to the University of North Texas. Life is nothing but sunshine and rainbows until his father’s secret life comes to light. Now, he finds himself asking if the life he used to have was ever real? His father left, his mom fell into a bottle, his best friend and girlfriend become his tormentors at school, and he now has to find a job to keep his car. The only thing he has left is the scholarship to play football. That’s what he holds on to as he finishes up high school. Until he meets the other main character- Sunny Blackfox.
Sunny is the girl I wished I would have been as a teenager. She knows herself. She knows what she wants out of life and works toward it. High school is just something to get through. When she’s not there, she’s working at the local diner trying to save enough money to leave town after graduation. Sunny’s life wasn’t like Judd’s… She’s the “drunk Indian’s daughter” from the wrong side of the tracks and was raised by her grandmother who passed away in the fall. She’s grieving and kind of lost. Little does she know that things are going to go from bad to worse, and the most unlikely person will become the one she can depend on the most.
This is a story about picking up the broken pieces and making something new out of them.
Thank you for letting me post on your blog. I hope y’all check out my book. I’m working on two more that should be published this year- Maybe Molly and Saving Me.
Maybe Molly is a New Adult contemporary romance about Sunny’s best friend Molly McEntire. She’s been keeping secrets and they’re about to be revealed in a big way.
Saving Me is another YA contemporary romance and I’ll have the cover and blurb on my social media for it soon. So, be sure to look me up!
Thanks again and happy reading!

About Maybe Never:
One golden boy…
Judd Jackson had it all—star football player with a college scholarship, perfect family, tons of friends, and a beautiful girlfriend. He was the most popular guy in town … until a family secret burned it all to the ground. Now, he’s the object of scorn and ridicule, and the only thing he has left is his scholarship and counting down the days until he can leave town.
One goal-oriented girl…
Sunny Blackfox was alone in the world, but she had big plans and big dreams to keep her occupied. She didn’t have time for anyone in her life. That was, until she came to the rescue of the boy she always had a thing for.
They have everything going against them, but maybe, if they are lucky, they will make it out of town after graduation together … or maybe never.
