Favorite quotes for this year’s read! Top Ten Tuesday 09/29/2020

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Depending on the weekly topic I write a post and this week’s theme picked my interest!

This week’s TTT topic is favorite quotes!

I chose among my favorite reads of this year and …I have more than ten 😀

“I had absolutely no interest in being somebody else’s muse.
I am not a muse.
I am the somebody.
End of fucking story.”
― Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & The Six

“Family means something different with us because it has to. It’s not about blood. It’s not even about who we like. It’s about who Andrew’s willing to protect.”
― Nora Sakavic, The Foxhole Court

“Do not let those who cannot see the truth tell you who you are. You are the flame that cannot be put out. You are the star that cannot be lost. You are who you have always been, and that is enough and more than enough. Anyone who looks at you and sees darkness is blind.”
― Cassandra Clare, Chain of Gold

“These people. There’s such a fierceness to them, such a lovingness. When I got here, I thought their lives were small and silly, but I was wrong. They’re some of the biggest people I know.”

“Not wanting to be destroyed by despair doesn’t make you a coward. It makes you a survivor.”
― S.A. Chakraborty, The Empire of Gold

“As if they think I don’t already know. I came out of the womb knowing how to do academic references.”
― Holly Jackson, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder

“She had taken a rogue into her bed, into her life, so a mad last tumble in a ripped bodice was a befitting good-bye.”

“I took my glasses off and set them to the table… The world went pleasantly blurry, and I didn´t have to see the details anymore.”
― Simone St. James, The Sun Down Motel

“I am a descendant of Ranthia Drahl, Queen of Embers. She is with me now and I am not afraid. My friends are behind me, and I will protect them.”
― Sarah J. Maas, House of Earth and Blood

“We don’t lock up books in this house,” Philippe said, “only food, ale, and wine. Reading Herodotus or Aquinas seldom leads to bad behavior.”
― Deborah Harkness, Shadow of Night

“We should always make time for the things we like. If we don’t, we might forget how to be happy.”
― T.J. Klune, The House in the Cerulean Sea
